Cyclonic action separates the dirt, dust, hair and other debris before it meets the filter and will keep the filter from clogging up. Other vacuums on the market will get clogged filters and this will reduce suction dramatically. So, a new non-cyclonic vacuum may have strong suction when new, will slowly deteriorate to much lower suction as the filter gets clogged. Cyclonic vacuums keep their suction longer, and do not require filter cleaning as often. Bagless Upright Vacuum - All Dyson vacuums are bagless. This means that you do not need to continue purchasing bags and have the mess of removing them. You can also see in the clear canister the amount of dirt, dust and hair that you are pulling out of your rugs. This gives you a visual indicator that the vacuum is properly working. You can also see when the dirt canister is getting full. Dyson canisters empty from the bottom, so you can avoid the mess of emptying the canister by positioning the canister over a trash can, then opening the bottom of the canister into the can with the press of a button, without the mess of top opening canisters.
